Desde 1990 se hace entrega de los premios GLAAD Media, los cuales buscan reconocer el trabajo de artistas que contribuyen a informar y reflejar la realidad de la comunidad GLBT.

Recientemente fueron anunciados los nominados a las galas 2015, que tendrán lugar en Los Ángeles el próximo 21 de marzo en el Hotel Beverly Hilton y en la ciudad de Nueva York el 9 de mayo, en el Hotel Waldorf Astoria de Nueva York.

En un comunicado enviado a E! News, la presidenta y CEO de GLAAD, Sarah Kate Ellis, indicó: “Ha sido un año extraordinario para la igualdad, y es evidente que en todas partes las personas GLBT han logrado visibilidad a través de los medios de comunicación. los nominados de este año, incluyendo las nuevas categorías de Comedia Excepcional y Serie Dramática, reflejan que la diversidad es cada vez es mayor”.

Mary Lambert, Sam Smith y series como Orange Is the New Black y Transparent, están en la lista de nominados.
